SEND

Alne Primary School welcomes all children and operates a policy of inclusion. The school has high expectations of all our pupils and strives to provide the best provision possible.  Alne Primary school complies with the Admissions Arrangements of NYCC with regard to pupils with SEND.

All children have equal access and opportunity to all areas of school life. The school is fully adapted to cater for a range of needs.  We liaise closely with other professional and where necessary refer to them for advice.

We are proud of the provision provided for our SEN children, which includes a variety of levels of support in class and on an individual basis.  All pupils are treated equally and specific arrangements are made to support pupils with SEND including; appointments of Teaching Assistants to support 1:1, purchase of specific resources, for example, a sound field, quiet areas, headphones and individual work-boards.

Mrs Teale co-ordinates the SEN provision in school and is always available to discuss the needs of your child. We can offer advice and guidance for ways to help at home, and can explain the support being provided for your child in school.  Termly meetings are also held to ensure all parties are aware and in agreement of provision provided.  Where possible the pupils are asked for their opinions on their provision.

We do offer a range of games and activities that can be borrowed from school to support your child’s development at home. Please ask in school for further information.

For any additional information regarding SEND please contact school and speak to our SENCO, Mrs Teale, alternatively you may wish to contact Mrs Teale via email [email protected]
