Children in KS1 receive a total teaching time of 21 hours and 40 minutes and in Keystage 2, 22 hours and 55 minutes each week, including Religious Education but excluding the statutory act of Collective Worship, registration, lunch and other breaks.

The Government no longer recommends a minimum number of teaching hours per week in Keystages 1 and 2.

Children may arrive at school from 8.40 am onwards. They may put their bags in the cloakroom but must then go straight on to the playground (not the grass) until the whistle is blown at 8.45 am. A member of Staff will be on duty on the playground giving supervision from 8.40 am.

In wet weather children may come into school from 8.40 am (when staff will be available for supervision) and sit down in their classrooms to chat quietly, read or get on with their work.

When children hear the whistle at the start of the school day, or at the end of a break, they must stand still before being sent to line up quietly and sensibly outside their classroom door. Children are then met by their teachers.

At 3.20 pm all children remain with their class teacher until they are collected, join the bus queue (in Class 1) or have permission to walk home. If you come to collect your child please collect the Reception children from their classroom or wait on the playground for the other classes.

The staff will escort the children travelling by the school bus to the bus and secure their seatbelts before the bus departs.
