Sports weeks

Our sports ‘week’ became plural when the terrible weather made any events planned after Monday impossible! The children competed in a wide range of competitions over the fortnight, from field events, to races on sports day and even house football and rounders competitions.

Our focus for the week was to ‘Be more Brownlee!’, which refers to Jonny Brownlee’s selfless act of carrying his brother, who was on the verge of fainting, over the finishing line at the cost of his own gold medal. During the following weeks, we took this as our inspiration to be supportive of our team and friends above all else, and this attribute came through really clearly in the children’s amazing teamwork, encouragement of each other and fantastic attitude to sport.

Well done to Osprey, who won the overall points competition as well as both the house football and rounders tournaments; Falcon, who were the winners of the sports day races; and Albatross, who won the field events.
