Community Charities

As part of our values education we wanted to reach out to the community and have therefore launched a new house charity competition. Newly elected house charity ambassadors, along with house captains came up with two different local charities for their teams to vote on. They  prepared some fantastic PowerPoints and gave some very persuasive presentations.

The chosen charities were:

Albatross – Martin’s House Hospice

Falcon – Candlelighters

Kestrel – Riding for the Disabled

Merlin – RNLI

Osprey – Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

The house teams have continued to meet on a weekly basis to come up with a fundraising event, which will take place in the new year.

They have also run a poster competition to encourage parents and members of the community to part with their small change for the different charities. The winning posters are displayed next to the large money jars outside the school all ready to be filled. The race is on to collect the most!
