Class 3/4HW

Welcome to Class 3/4HW

Mrs Hopper and Mrs Wood are the teachers in Class 3/4 HW.

Mrs Fullam and Mrs King are the teaching assistants.

In our class we have both Year 3 and Year 4 children, also referred to as lower key stage 2. We plan topic based learning to enable us to access the enriching opportunities that come with the revised 2014 National Curriculum programme of study. Full details of our topics can be found through our class curriculum tab. Our topic themes have an umbrella title and science, history and geography are taught in a cross curricular way within the theme. Ancient Greece and the Stone Age are our history topics this year with science topics covering plants, forces and magnets, animals (including humans), light and rocks. We will cover earthquakes, renewable energy and contrasting localities in geography. In addition, this year we are endeavouring to create as many opportunities as possible for outdoor learning. As a result, the children will spend part of their timetable learning forest skills as well as parts of the curriculum in a local forest environment. In the first half of the autumn term we will also have the benefit of a dedicated sports coach. Despite the changes in our routines following the need for our “bubbles”, we anticipate plenty of opportunities for fun learning.

Welcome to our class!
